“…to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee.”
No, this isn’t from the last hurrah of Khan in Star Trek II, but from Melville’s Moby Dick. Everyone recognizes the tale of the Captain Ahab, as he tracks down the White Whale in a voyage of obsessive revenge.
Leviathan, by Geoffrey and Valerie Greer, is a 2-player combat card game based on the events in Moby Dick. It’s a quick game of tactics and positioning as the hunters track the beast, with each side looking to make the decisive strike. This looks to be a fun game for both young and old and is already close to its funding goal on Kickstarter. Ready the harpoon!
From the Campaign:
“In this asymmetrical naval combat game, one player controls the fearsome Moby Dick and a pod of whales, using hidden movement to elude the opponent, who controls the whaling fleet of Ahab and his crew. The Ahab player wins by slaying Moby Dick. The Moby Dick player wins by sinking the Hunters’ ship, the Pequod.”
